When does GreenBee launch?

We're targeting a public launch in the Netherlands and Belgium in 2026, followed by Germany, France, and Austria. Early access members get the app first.

Is GreenBee really free?

Yes — scanning, scoring, and core swap suggestions stay free forever. Trust is the product. We may offer optional Premium features (family sharing, meal-plan optimiser, advanced analytics) later, but the core app will always be free.

How is the GreenBee Score calculated?

It's a weighted composite: 33% price fairness, 34% nutrition (based on Nutri-Score and additive count from Open Food Facts), and 33% environment (based on Eco-Score's 16 indicators). The methodology is published openly and the score is never influenced by commercial relationships.

What about my privacy?

GDPR-compliant from day one. Receipts are processed with your explicit consent and stored encrypted. No personal identifiers required for the core scanning function. You own your data and can delete it any time.

Which retailers are supported?

At launch: every major Benelux retailer including Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Plus, Lidl, Aldi, Dirk, Coop, Delhaize, Carrefour, and Colruyt. Our receipt OCR works with paper receipts and PDF e-receipts. We're adding new retailers continuously.

How is this different from Yuka?

Yuka is excellent at scanning individual products for nutrition info. GreenBee scans entire receipts and adds two dimensions Yuka doesn't cover: price fairness and environmental impact. We also work after the shop, so you get insight into what you actually bought.
