    Cryptic receipt text and abbreviated product descriptions get resolved by our receipt-aware matcher against our own mirror of Open Food Facts - 110,000+ Dutch products - and it learns from every user correction. Text recognition runs on your phone; the photo never leaves it.

Is GreenBee available now?

Yes. GreenBee launched in the App Store on 1 October 2026 for iPhone, in the Netherlands and Belgium. Android follows; Germany, France and Austria after that.

Is GreenBee really free?

Yes! Scanning, filters, and the suggestions for comparable products are free.

How does GreenBee decide what's a better choice?

It asks you. After a scan, tap the filter chips that matter to you - Best price, Healthier, Organic, Planet friendly, EU-sourced, Plastic-free, No sugar, No fat, Gluten-free, Lactose-free - in any combination, and your basket re-ranks by how well each item fits. Items that match show ✓ checkmarks; items that don't get a swap suggestion right underneath.

What about my privacy?

We're fully GDPR-compliant. Receipt photos never leave your phone - only the product list reaches our EU servers, with your explicit consent. An account takes just an email address - that's all the personal data we need. You own your data and can delete it any time.

Which retailers are supported?

At launch: the big Dutch supermarkets - Albert Heijn, Jumbo, Lidl, Plus, Dirk, DekaMarkt, Vomar, Hoogvliet, Spar, and Poiesz - plus Delhaize in Belgium, with more Belgian chains to follow. Our receipt OCR works with paper receipts and PDF e-receipts. We're adding new retailers continuously.
